In this unit we learned that rocks are split up into 3 different catagories that each have different properties: igneous rocks, sedimentary rocks, and metamorphic rocks. Each of the 3 types of rocks are made in different conditions and are found in different places.

There many minerals, and each of them can be identified by their different characteristics (examples of characteristics would include the color, cleavege, Moh's scale, Luster, etc.). Minerals can also be divided up into two categories, silicon minerals and non silicon minerals.
